March 28: Hint--yo-ho--

She looked coldly into those green eyes. The green eyes that played with her when she was the new kid on the block, held her close when her mother passed away, and loved her the way no other eyes could. Those green eyes that looked so much like his father’s. If only she’d known those eyes weren’t entirely the same as his. There was the one difference between those two sets of eyes that she hadn’t known about until now.

“I’m sorry, Jade, I didn’t know what I was doing,” Ash had said this to her so many times before, but it wasn’t going to get him out of the situation this time.

“You’re sorry? You’re fucking sorry? How in the fucking world are you sorry? I knew,” Jade took a deep breath, she held back the tears that wanted to make a path down her face and splash onto the ground. “I knew there was something different between you and your father. At least he loved and never would have done such a thing to your mom. I thought you were exactly like your father in every way, that’s why when I chose you to be with, I thought no other girl would ever come between us. It looks like I was wrong about that.”

“Jade, if I could take it all back I would. I don’t want this to be the end. I don’t want to lose you,” Ash’s tears formed their path slowly.

“I don’t know what else to tell you.” Jade’s lip started to quiver, “it’s over.”

“No, please, you can’t mean that. We’ve been through so much together.” Ash looked at his ex-girlfriend. Could she really mean it? How could this happen to him? She turned around and headed to her house, up the street. Ash didn’t take his eyes off of her until she was inside. He then turned up his steps and walked to his room, he turned his cd player on.

Broken this fragile thing now and I can’t, I can’t pick up the pieces and I’ve thrown my words all around, but I can’t, I can’t give you a reason. I feel so broken up and I give up. I just want to tell you so you know. Hear I go, scream my lungs out to try to get to you. You are my only one. I let go there’s just no one who gets me like you do. You are my only, my only one.

The tears streamed down his face like a river that would never end. He cried into his pillow and thought about all the memories he shared with Jade. He knew nothing would ever be the same. She could never trust him again, never.

Here I go so dishonestly, leave a note for you my only one and I know you can see right through me, so let me go and you will find someone.

He thought to himself, there’s plenty of other guys for her to find. A lot, that were way better then him. The song ended and replayed. His mother came in, “why didn’t you knock?” He asked her.

“I did, but you have your music blasting.”

“So you came in here to tell me to turn it down, right?”

“No, I was listening to what song it was and I figured something was wrong.” Alyssa, his mother, sat on the bed next to him.

“A lot of things are, but I think I would feel better talking things over with dad.”

“Are you sure? I’m always here for you if you need to talk too.”

“I know, but this is one of those, got to talk to dad instead, type of things”

“Well, you know where to find him,” Alyssa got up and headed to the kitchen to make something for lunch. Ash walked to the garage, to find his dad working on another customers car.

“Hey, dad, I kind of need to ask you something.” Ash wiped away any left tear streaks.

“Ok, what is it?” Kerry, his dad, continues working on the car.

“Did you ever cheat on mom?”

“No, why? She tell you to come ask, to see if I’d tell you about something I never told her? I never have and never will cheat on her, your mother needs to realize that she is the only girl that matters to me and that she is beautiful and there are no better girls out there than her for me.”

“No, but let’s say you did cheat on mom, she caught you, and told you that it was over. What would you do to get her to come back into your arms?”

Kerry stopped messing with the car and looked at his son, “I would do anything in my power to get her back. I would get her the 2005 mustang she’s been wanting, buy her all the black roses, I’d go to the other side of the world and stay there if that’s what she wanted. I’d watch her make out with some other guy, just to get back at me and make all ends meet. Can’t say I wouldn’t kill the fucker afterwards. If I couldn’t get her back, I’d kill myself.”

“Dad, I need to get Jade back.”

“I knew this was about her.” Kerry gave Ash some money, “go get her.”

Ash thanked his dad and left. Alyssa walked in the garage, “here’s your sandwich.” She set it down and was getting ready to walk out like usual, knowing Kerry was going to be in there another 5 hours, not coming out to be with her. Who even knew if he was thinking about her.

Kerry came up behind her and hugged her, “guess who loves you.” He told her.

“I don’t know anymore.” Alyssa looked at Kerry.

“I love you!”

“You do?”

“Of course I do, why wouldn’t I?”

“I don’t know, you’re always working on your cars instead of spending time with me.”

“Well, I’m taking a break right now. The rest of the day I’m spending with you.” He kissed her.

“I love you, sexy.” Alyssa kissed him back and they went inside.

*Jade’s house*

Jade laid on her bed writing a letter to her friend:

Crystal,

I thought you were a friend of mine, but I was wrong. You tried to fit into the arms where I belong. You moved right in, behind my back. Everyone knows friends don’t do that. I thought you were, somebody I could trust. You always said you were happy for us. How could you go and break my heart? When you knew all along he was mine from the start. Friends don’t do what you did. I thought you cared about me, but now I see all you care about is you. He is everything to me and you know we’re meant to be. He’s my baby, don’t mess with my love.

Jade

Jade folded the letter and put it in her top drawer. She headed down the steps to find Ash sitting on her couch with two concert tickets to a Yellowcard concert. She sat on the couch next to him, “how do you do this to me?” She smiled, “I thought there could be no possible way to get me back, but here you are sitting in my living room and I can’t help, but come back to you.” She hugged him, “I love you Ash.”

“I love you too, Jade. Why are you taking me back though?” Ash was curious.

“I know there’s no other guy out there for me, plus you have those green eyes that pull me in.”

“So it‘s not because I bought the tickets?”

“No, it’s the green eyes and I love you.”

“I love you too.”
